Malt & Hops is a traditional 1-room free house dating from 1749. We are a Real Ale focused pub and have a broad cross section of customers. We also have a great selection of Malt Whiskies as well as Tennents, Tennents Ice Cold, Carlsberg, Grolsch, Belhaven Best, Guinness, Guinness Extra Cold, Stella and Addlestones Cloudy Cider on tap at all times. Dogs (on leashes) are most welcome.
The Malt & Hops places great store in the quality and diversity of the real ales and as a regular in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide, we are pleased to feature in the 2012 edition.
We have an ever changing range of real ales, featured on 8 traditional hand pumps at any one time. We try to get as many new and one-off ales as possible, especially Scottish microbreweries, whilst working through the old favourites from north and south of the border. In fact, we get through so many great and exciting new beers that every week at the Malt & Hops is like a mini beer festival !
